Celestia's Concerns

Celestia: I'm sorry I asked you to leave Ponyville and come to the Crystal Empire on such short notice, Twilight.

Twilight: Of course, Princess. I knew it must have been urgent. 

Cadence: Yes, Shining Armor and I have been worried sick since we received your letter. Nothing was mentioned except that you need to speak to Twilight and I. Also, where is Luna? Is she alright?

Celestia: Well, this is partially about her. 

Twilight: What happened? Is she alright?!

Celestia: Y-Yes, Twilight. It's alright. She's back in Canterlot resting. Though, she's been depressed lately and not left the castle for months. 

Cadence: Oh no...h-has something happened? Is she not well?

Celestia: Well, not really. Twilight, do you remember the Tantabus?

Twilight: Yes of course. We've never heard or seen of it since Luna and the ponies of Ponyville defeated it. Why?

Celestia: Well, needless to say Luna was affected by the Tantabus. Nightmare Moon's darkness was what really created the Tantabus and was not vanquished as everybody thought. She became pregnant some time after the battle, and no...it's not because of a stallion. It's similar to when you had Flurry Heart, Cadence.

Cadence: Oh my goodness...Luna...is she alright?

Celestia: She's been severely depressed because of this and has hardly eaten, and merely laid in bed.

Twilight: My god...we need to go see her, make sure she's okay. 

Cadence: No, Twilight...not unless she wants to see us. 

Twilight: B-But Cadence...

Cadence: I understand what she's going through. I didn't want anybody to see me when I was pregnant with Flurry. I was really insecure about my weight and everything. Besides, being pregnant, hormonal, and depressed it's just not a good combination. 

Celestia: I'd have to agree with Cadence. My main concern is what happens after she has the foal. I don't know how she'll feel afterwards. I have no idea if she'll even want to keep the foal, and I just can't bring myself to leaving the foal alone. *sighs* What I'm asking is...if Luna doesn't feel she can take care of the foal, would either of you...perhaps want to take care of it? Not as your son or daughter but even as a student. 

Cadence: Oh my...I'm not really sure. Flurry is barely learning to walk right now...she's just learning to control her magic and Sunburst only really babysits right now. Shining Armor is working a lot, and I've been trying to take care of her. I don't know how he would feel about another foal being around. Or Flurry. 

Twilight: *doesn't really know what to say* A-A foal? I...I can't even imagine taking care of such a small foal. 

Celestia: I know, I know it sounds like a lot but...I don't know what's going to happen right now. I just want to be prepared, that's all.

Cadence: Celestia, this is a lot of stress and pressure for you. 

Twilight: *nods* Yeah, we can figure things out.

Celestia: Thank you...thank you so much.
